Reverse Engineering / Remanufacturing

Engineering a second life for industrial machines

Safecurrent is Nigeria's dedicated reverse engineering and remanufacturing specialist. We restore, redesign, and rebuild industrial equipment to perform as new, at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

(01)The Safecurrent Approach

Most companies see two options. We offer a third.

When a critical machine fails and the original manufacturer is out of reach, whether obsolete, overseas, or out of business, most companies believe they can only pay heavily for imported replacements or abandon the equipment entirely.

Safecurrent offers a third way. We reverse engineer failed and obsolete components, remanufacture worn equipment to original or better specifications, and return your machines to productive service right here in Nigeria.

Why remanufacturing works
01

Reverse Engineering

We decode what the OEM never gave you. From a single worn part, we reconstruct complete technical drawings, material specifications, and manufacturing routes.

02

Remanufacturing

Not repair. Not refurbishment. A rigorous industrial process that returns used equipment to a condition equal to or better than new, backed by warranty.

03

Engineering Consultancy

Independent, standards-driven advisory on equipment life extension, obsolescence management, and local content engineering.

04

Circular Economy Leadership

Every machine we remanufacture keeps tonnes of steel out of scrap yards, conserves embodied energy, and builds indigenous industrial capacity.

(02)Who We Are

Giving Nigeria the capability to rebuild its own industrial equipment.

Safecurrent Engineering Company is a specialist reverse engineering and remanufacturing firm headquartered at Podo Industrial Village, Ibadan, Oyo State. We are a proud member of the Automation Group of Companies, a diversified engineering group with over fifteen years of industrial training, automation, and energy solutions experience.

For years, our engineers watched a painful pattern repeat itself across Nigerian industry: production lines halted for months waiting for imported spares; perfectly restorable machines scrapped because no local drawings existed; billions in foreign exchange spent replacing equipment that skilled hands could have returned to service. Safecurrent was founded to break that cycle.

Drawing on deep expertise in industrial automation, precision fabrication, welding technology, mechatronics, and machine design, we built a company around the disciplines the global remanufacturing industry has proven for decades, and adapted them to African industrial realities.

Our Mission

To restore industrial equipment to full productive life through world-class reverse engineering and remanufacturing, reducing import dependence, conserving resources, and building indigenous engineering capacity.

Our Vision

To be Africa's reference point for reverse engineering and remanufacturing excellence, the company industries call first when a machine's story seems to have ended.

(v)Core Values
01

Integrity of Engineering

Every drawing verified, every tolerance measured, every material certified. We do not guess; we engineer.

02

Stewardship

Resources, machines, and talents are entrusted to us for faithful use. Remanufacturing is stewardship in action.

03

Excellence Without Excuses

African-made must mean world-class. We hold our work to international remanufacturing standards.

04

Knowledge Transfer

Every project builds Nigerian capability. We document, we train, we multiply.

05

Honesty With Clients

If a machine should be replaced rather than remanufactured, we will tell you. Our advice serves your interest, not our invoice.

(03)Our Services

Six disciplines that return machines to productive service.

S.01

Reverse Engineering

When original drawings, specifications, or manufacturers are unavailable, we reconstruct them. We take a physical component, worn, broken, or obsolete, and produce complete manufacturing-ready documentation.

  • Precision dimensional measurement
  • 2D drawings & 3D CAD models
  • Material identification & specification
  • Tolerance & surface finish analysis
  • Bill of Materials development
  • Manufacturing route & sourcing
S.02

Industrial Remanufacturing

A complete industrial process: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, restoration or replacement of components, reassembly, and testing, that returns used equipment to a condition equal to or better than new, with warranty.

  • Packaging & processing machinery (VFFS)
  • Electric motors, gearboxes & drives
  • Automation panels, PLCs & controls
  • Pumps, compressors & rotating equipment
  • Power generation & energy equipment
  • Fabricated & stainless-steel components
S.03

Machine Rebuilds & Life Extension

For equipment that is structurally sound but technologically dated, we offer complete rebuilds that modernise control, safety, and performance.

  • Modern PLC & HMI retrofits
  • Obsolete drive & sensor replacement
  • Mechanical restoration of frames & guides
  • Safety upgrades to current standards
  • Performance uprating beyond original
S.04

Obsolescence Management & Spare Parts Recovery

We help asset-intensive organisations manage the growing crisis of obsolete parts and stay independent of vanished suppliers.

  • Obsolescence risk audits
  • Local production of discontinued spares
  • Strategic spare parts libraries
  • Supplier-independent maintenance capability
S.05

Engineering Consultancy

Independent advisory services that put your interest first, from a single decision to a full facility.

  • Repair vs remanufacture vs replace analysis
  • Condition & remaining-life studies
  • Failure investigation & root cause analysis
  • Local content engineering strategy
  • Remanufacturing facility design & setup
S.06

Technical Documentation Services

We produce the documentation that keeps industry running long after the original paperwork is gone.

  • As-built drawings for undocumented plant
  • Maintenance & overhaul manuals
  • Standard operating procedures
  • Technical dossiers for compliance
(04)Why Remanufacturing

It is not repair. It is rebirth.

A repair fixes the fault you can see. Remanufacturing strips a machine to its last bolt, inspects every component against original specification, restores or replaces what is worn, and rebuilds the whole to a tested, warranted, like-new standard.

Up to 60%

Lower cost than new equivalents

Weeks

Local lead time, not months of import

100%

Of your spend retained in Nigeria

The Economics

Remanufactured equipment typically costs far less than new equivalents, and arrives in weeks rather than months of international procurement, shipping, and clearing. Every naira spent locally stays in the Nigerian economy.

The Environment

Remanufacturing is the highest form of recycling. It preserves not just the material of a machine, but the enormous energy, labour, and precision already invested in manufacturing it.

The Strategy

For Nigeria and Africa, remanufacturing is industrial sovereignty. A nation that can rebuild its own machines cannot be held hostage by supply chains, sanctions, or discontinued product lines.

(05)Our Process

From written-off to fully productive, in six stages.

01

Assessment

Send us the machine, the part, or simply photographs and a description. Our engineers conduct a structured condition assessment and feasibility study.

02

Engineering Proposal

You receive a clear, documented proposal: scope of work, technical approach, cost, timeline, and our honest recommendation, including when remanufacturing is not the right answer.

03

Reverse Engineering & Documentation

Where drawings do not exist, we create them. Precision measurement, material analysis, CAD modelling, and BOM development form the engineering foundation of the project.

04

Remanufacturing

Disassembly, cleaning, inspection against specification, component restoration or replacement, precision reassembly. Every stage is documented against defined quality gates.

05

Testing & Certification

Functional testing under load conditions. Nothing leaves our workshop until it performs to specification.

06

Delivery, Warranty & Support

Your equipment returns with complete documentation, a performance warranty, and ongoing technical support. Operator and maintenance training is available through our sister academy, AAEN.
